The Modest Butcher Kitchen & Market serves up amazing, farm to table dishes without an ounce of pretention, modestly offering the best dining experience in Okanagan wine country. The wine menu features classic wines from around the world to compliment Mt. Boucherie Estates’s own award-winning portfolio. Our meats are sourced from within a reasonable radius, and we support Okanagan producers as best we can. We are looking to fill in the following position: Food Service Supervisor (NOC 62020) Positions : 1 Wage $18.5/hour Hours of work : 40 hours/week Job Location : 829 Douglas Road, West Kelowna, BC, V1Z 1N9, Canada The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the efficient and effective day to day operation of food and beverage at The Modest Butcher. This will include an active role in training and development of employees as well as service recovery situations. This job is challenging, rewarding, and it requires a passion for service. The candidate must have excellent communication and leadership qualities. The main duties include: · Organize, assist, direct, and evaluate employees on shift. Address clients’ concerns and complaints and work with staffto seek ways for improvement. · Apply supervisory skills ensuring staffare well trained, the labor and financial goals of the company are maintained. · Coordinate and schedule staff working hours in a way that customer needs are met. · Calculate and order ingredients based on the estimations depending on the season/month of the year. · Maintain inventory of stock, records of sales and waste and prepare and submit reports to the Restaurant Manager. · Assist new employees and train them in menu preparation as well and health and safety procedures, and make sure that all our products meet the quality control standards. · May participate in the selection of new hires and contribute to the review of internal policies and procedures as required. · Motivate and engage team members to consistently deliver exceptional service to our guests at all times. · Resolve guest concerns/issues efficiently and courteously to prevent a reoccurrence and ensure guest will become a repeat customer. · Ensure appropriate food and beverage management coverage on weekends and holidays to ensure consistently high levels of guest service are maintained. · Report directly to the restaurant manager and be responsible for running a smooth shift while contributing your time towards the goal of the restaurant. Start date: immediately. Language requirements English Education requirements Completion of secondary (high) school. Work experience required Completion of a community college program in food service administration, hotel and restaurant management or related discipline or At least 3 years of experience in food preparation or service are required. This is a long-term, full-time position. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends and holidays . Must be self reliant, highly motivated, has initiative, and the maturity to be in charge of 15-20 people (depending on the time of the year). This is a fast-paced environment; You must be able to work under pressure and stand up for extended periods.
