Office of the Registrar
(One-Year Contractual Position)
DUTIES
The Office of the Registrar, through its academic and support services related to recruitment, admission, registration, program curriculum, records, advising, graduation, and student administrative systems, plays an integral role in the academic life of the University. The successful applicant will work as part of the team of professional staff to represent and support the operation of the Office of the Registrar. Duties include working with an assigned constituency to implement and interpret academic regulations and provide related advice and service as needed; coordinating application processing and determining general admission or re-admission eligibility; advising applicants and students regarding their general or faculty/school admission eligibility; participating in enrolment services and records activities; advising students of their academic standing and progress towards satisfying degree requirements; assessing and assisting with the processing of applications for graduation; advising students regarding academic appeals; supporting student system development and service delivery; coordinating and supervising the work of assigned support staff; advising academic unit representatives, senior Registrar's Office staff, and governance bodies regarding the application and development of academic regulations; representing the Office of the Registrar on faculty/school and pan-University committees; drafting, editing, or providing advice regarding proposals for changes to regulations for the University Calendar; providing support for the production and publication of the University Calendar; compiling and analysing student data and preparing related reports; participating in projects and developing programs to enhance the delivery of academic services; and performing other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Experience (3-5 years) of progressively responsible roles in a post-secondary or related administrative, organizational, or government structure; graduation with an undergraduate degree; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of university structure, governance, and decision-making processes; an ability to exercise independent judgement; proficiency in researching and analysing data and preparing reports; and excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of student information systems (e.g. Student Banner), a Document Asset Management System (DMS) (e.g. OnBase), Memorial's degree programs, and topics in post-secondary education administration would be considered assets.
SALARY $61,862 - $84,355 per annum (Management and Professional)
