MERRITT CENTRAL ELEMENTARY & MERRITT SECONDARY SCHOOL0.25 FTE Continuing part-time (Okanagan Language) nsyilxcen Language Instructor at Merritt Secondary, beginning September 1, 2023.0.25 FTE Continuing part-time (Okanagan Language) nsyilxcen Language Instructor at Merritt Central Elementary, beginning September 1, 2023.Required QualificationsBe a fluent speaker of the nsyilxcen Language.Possess a First Nations Language teacher certificate for nsyilxcen Language or be eligible for this certificate.Have a good understanding of Syilx culture.Training and experience working with grade-level students.Experience with adapting materials, resources, assessments and learning outcomes for student needs.Valid BC Teaching certificate or eligible for Letter of Permission.Teaching category five or higher.Preferred QualificationsA commitment to supporting a variety of learning needs.Experience/training in supporting the social-emotional learning needs of students.Committed to establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students, staff and parents.Committed to working as a member of a school team in support of students.School District 58 is working to ensure an inclusive, diverse and representative workforce.
