MANAGER, TALENT & GOVERNANCE (CONTRACT)

Midland Transport Limited has become a leader in the transportation industry by providing superior quality service to our customers. Our services include LTL, T/L, Courier Services, and Third Party Logistics/ Brokerage which provide the convenience of one-stop shipping.

Midland Transport is currently seeking for Manager, Talent & Governance (Contract) that would be based out of our Head Office in Dieppe, NB. Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, the selected candidate will be a high-energy self-starter with a strong work ethic and a ???Can Do?۝ attitude. This is a contract role available immediately and ending in June 2025.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage and develop the Talent Acquisition team to fill current and future vacancies efficiently, while sourcing and engaging top talent.
  • Work closely with Midland?۪s leadership and operations teams to develop a workforce plan. Support the hiring process from the request to hire to the hire stage, including requisition management.
  • Lead talent sourcing activities to attract top talent and build the brand as an employer of choice in the industry (i.e., community and industry recruitment events, campus recruitment activities, build/source pipelines for targeted talent pools). Bring creative and strategic solutions to develop and execute comprehensive recruitment marketing plans to source top talent using social media platforms, stories and videos, targeted recruitment ads, and referral programs.
  • Own, grow and lead the Company's immigration strategy to bring professional truck drivers to our Canadian operations. Liaise with governmental and other external organizations to ensure a network of resources are available so that we can attract, welcome, and retain new Canadians through immigration.
  • Regularly review existing HR/Employee Experience policies and procedures, and modify as per Canada Labour Code changes.
  • Lead the implementation of new Canada Labour Code statues across the Company (i.e. Pay Equity, leave entitlement changes, accessibility changes, etc.)
  • Implement and maintain an effective governance communication program to ensure all employees understand the impact of any changes within their work unit.

Who You Are:

  • Education Required: Post-secondary education in a related field (business, administration, human resources, or marketing preferred)
  • Experience Required: 4-7 years of related experience
  • Experience leading a team of direct reports
  • Knowledge of Canadian immigration policies and practices
  • Knowledge of federal employment legislation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Bilingual (French & English) is an asset
