General Manager Irving Equipment

Irving Equipment Limited is a well-established Heavy Lift and Specialized Transport company with a diverse fleet of mobile and crawler cranes, SPMTs, and other specialized transport and lifting equipment with locations in Saint John, New Brunswick, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and several other branch locations in Atlantic Canada.

We are currently experiencing a period of steady growth and are looking to add a talented leader to our growing company in the role of GENERAL MANAGER, based in Saint John, NB.

As the ideal candidate you are a STRATEGIC and OPERATIONAL leader who thinks in broad terms, sees issues from new perspectives, and demonstrates a unique ability to simplify the complex. You are a hands-on, dynamic LEADER with the ability to ENERGIZE and INSPIRE the team to take-action and ACHIEVE common goals.

You will be responsible for:

• Maintaining the highest standard for safety and ensuring all employees embrace our safety-first culture.
• Leading the daily management of the operation to optimize productivity and profitability. Present period financial results to division leadership.
• Set and communicate clear priorities for the operations team.
• Develop and coach talent, make hiring decisions which support growth plans.
• Maximize employee engagement through regular, consistent, and personal communication and energizing the team to win every day.
• Engage customers to ensure all products and services are delivered safely, on-time, and of the highest quality.
  
  

Your qualifications ideally include:

• A bachelor?۪s degree in engineering or a related field with a professional designation. An MBA is considered a strong asset.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience leading an operation, preferably in a comparable role.
• Commercial experience with large industrial customers.
• Demonstrated experience improving processes to drive practical business outcomes.
• Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of managing financial requirements, deadlines, and priorities.
• Building and fostering positive relationships with all stakeholders, internal and external.
• Demonstrated ability to spot exceptional talent and nurture the growth of the next generation of leaders for the company.
