Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Health, Safety & Environment Administrator. They will be the first point of contact for the department, appropriately routing all questions and concerns. They will also play a direct role in the completion of key departmental requirements, possess the responsibility as the ISI ???Super User? for Intelex, and act as the Buyer for the department.
This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. Qualifications:
- Education: Business Administrative diploma or 5+ years of related experience in lieu
- Experience: 2+ years in administrative role
- Purchasing experience required
- Experience in Safety or industrial setting considered an asset
- Knowledge of JD Edwards, Intelex or similar considered an asset
- Strong computer skills and experience in MS Office Suite and Windows
- Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Key Responsibilities:
- Compiles, distributes and files (as necessary via various mediums) key HSE documentation/records including: HSE Reports, Investigations, Statistics (Weekly & Monthly), and Weekly HSE/Toolbox Talk Communications.
- The main ISI point-of-Contact/Administrator for Intelex & Intelex Support ??? including classifying incidents, initiating/closing Investigations, and offering general support for ISI Users.
- Ensures Incident Investigations and Open Corrective Actions from Investigations are actioned/closed out in a timely fashion.
- Schedule and document HSE related meetings/training/professional development / testing, as necessary.
- Purchaser (also known as Buyer) for the HSE department (i.e.: Office supplies, HSE training/supplies, etc.)
