Addiction and Mental Health Worker, Nicole's Choice Full-time, Contract (Ending: January 3, 2025) & Full-Time-Contract (Ending: April 8, 2024) London, Ontario - Application Deadline: January 11, 2024 - Every person in our community has the right to safe, affordable, quality housing and to live with dignity and as much independence and choice as possible. Interested applicants who reside in the City of London and are in need of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible as PVSCs in the City of London are currently taking approximately 3 weeks to be processed and offers of employment cannot be made without receipt of a PVSC. WHAT WE'RE OFFERING: What you'll be making - $22.33 to $25.71 per hour (Practicing Professional Grid): The above are initial rates; with grid increases as per policy Internal staff members will be placed on the appropriate grid based on their current rate of pay, up to Level 8 of the grid (see Intranet Policy - bit.ly/CompensationPolicyPg16) When you'll work - 70 hours over a two-week period; shifts are currently rotating days, afternoons and weekends Your pension plan - Immediately eligible for optional enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) What your benefits will be - After a 90-day waiting period will be eligible for a 20% Prescription Drug Benefit PSLRTA Notice - This posting characterizes this position as currently non-union. HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE: Work with clients and help motivate/support them to work towards achievement of their goals Champion each client’s capacity for independent community living Assist clients to maintain suitable housing Facilitate and implement resident meetings Provide health teaching about addiction, mental illness and symptom management Crisis intervention and prevention Assist and coach clients in the learning and management/achievement of activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, daily chores, budgeting, socialization etc. Advocate for and support clients in accessing community resources Documentation related to clients Ensure effective communication with Director, Managers, staff team, and external treatment teams concerning each participant’s progress Identify, promote resolution, and management of all emergency situations concerning participants, staff, and property Make decisions both independently and collaboratively WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY: Police Vulnerable Sector Check Requirements Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed in the last six months.
