Our Sundre Woodlands Team Has An Opportunity For aForest PlannerReporting to the Planning Superintendent, the Forest Planner will work individually and with a team of professionals responsible for all aspects of forest planning.Duties And ResponsibilitiesDevelop harvest and road plans with a focus on GIS workflowsContract management, contractor supervision, liaison with government officials and coordination of road and block layoutConsult stakeholders including first nationsExpect 75%+ office work to address GIS intensive work requirementsIncorporate wildlife, fisheries, environmental and economic values into harvest designDesired Qualifications And QualitiesCommitment to safety and responsible forest stewardship.Self-motivated and team oriented.Strong communication and organizational skills.Competency or aptitude in using ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro, ESRI mobile apps and RoadEng;Experience developing or supervising harvest and roading plansDemonstrated leadership in a group setting.Possess a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered Professional Forest Technologist (RPFT) designation for Alberta (or be eligible and willing to earn this designation).
