The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development is hiring knowledgeable, collaborative and results oriented individuals to fill the role of Early Learning Consultant for Inclusion in the Anglophone South School Districts territory.
Role
Reporting to the Regional Director of Early Childhood Services and working within the early childhood teams in the Anglophone South School District, the successful candidates will be part of a team of Early Learning Consultants who provide pedagogical guidance, coaching and mentoring to early childhood educators and directors through individual on-site coaching, the establishment of communities of practice, and professional development workshops/learning opportunities aligned with the values, goals and principles of the NB Early Learning and Child Care Curriculum Framework. This role aims to work with administrators, inclusion support personnel and educators in creating a supportive and inclusive environment in early learning and childcare settings for all children and fostering collaboration amongst various stakeholders. The emphasis is on guiding, coaching, and mentoring early learning and childcare administrators and educators in the implementation of inclusion and diversity practices, problem solving of complex situations that promote access and full participation for all children.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Mentoring of early learning and childcare administrators in developing and implementing Inclusion and Diversity policies.
- Offer guidance and support to ensure the effective implementation of inclusive practices in facilities.
- Oversee the Inclusion Support Program, including reviewing applications and managing renewal processes.
- Provide recommendations for inclusion support and guidance in the development and implementation of child support plans for children with additional needs.
- Collaborate with administrators and Inclusion Support Workers to monitor child support plans identifying opportunities for coaching and mentoring of educator practices.
- Promote an optimal level of support for children with additional needs through ongoing assessment and adjustment of support plans.
- Collect and collate relevant data, statistics and information related to the Inclusion Support Program to assess impact and identify areas for improvement.
- Apply and select effective coaching and mentoring strategies to foster a culture of continuous improvement among early childhood education professionals to encourage self-awareness, refine skills and engage in reflective practices.
- Provide on-site coaching and mentoring on inclusion and diversity tailored to individual facility strengths, needs and challenges anchored in the curriculum framework.
- Collaborate with provincial early childhood teams to contribute to the development and implementation of initiatives or pilots that enhance inclusion and diversity in early learning and childcare.
- Foster collaborative relationships with families, community partners and stakeholders to best meet the needs of children and their families.

To Be Successful In This Role You Have
- A bachelor's degree in a related field, and a minimum of four (4) years in the field of Early Childhood Development and/or Education. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Extensive knowledge of and practice with the NB Early Learning and Childcare Curriculum Framework.
- Experience and strong understanding of practices that foster inclusion, diversity, and social responsibility for including all families and children in early learning.
- You have experience coaching, mentoring, and facilitating groups, either virtually or face-to-face.
- You can adapt quickly, provide high quality customer service, and collaborate with team members, community partners, stakeholders, and families.
- You are able to operate within the values of the New Brunswick Public Service.
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.
Nice To Have
- Experience working in a licensed early learning and childcare facility as an early childhood educator.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring adult learners.
- Experience with implementing inclusive practices and/or working with children with additional needs.
- Experience with various types of technology that facilitate communication and collaboration via distance.

Wage
Pay Band 4: $54, 548 - $76,284 annually.
Work Environment
- Office location: 500 Woodward Avenue, Saint John
- Standard hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; evening and weekend work required (occasionally).
