The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development is seeking an individual for the
Développement et apprentissage à la petite enfance Division as an Early Learning Specialist in Fredericton.

What You Will Do
Reporting to the
Direction du Développement et de l'Apprentissage 0-8 ans, this person is responsible for developing and updating the
Curriculum éducatif - Services de garde francophones du Nouveau-Brunswick (Curriculum éducatif) and the
"Introduction à l'éducation de la petite enfance" training and for developing associated evaluation and support resources. The incumbent will plan, facilitate and deliver training to educational teams in the school districts and to staff at early learning and childcare facilities.
The Successful Candidate's Primary Responsibilities Will Include
- Identifying innovative teaching practices in early childhood development to inform updates and changes made to the Curriculum éducatif and online training
- Modifying processes concerning the review or development of all new training, instructional resources and supporting documentation in connection with the Curriculum éducatif and pedagogical leadership
- Engaging staff of the department, school districts and partners and early learning and childcare facility representatives in the development of instructional resources
- Collaborating with Francophone post-secondary institutions to maintain ties with and meet the needs of the early learning and childcare sector
- Sharing educational knowledge regarding the review of Kindergarten-Grade 2 curricula, supporting the alignment of high-school early childhood education courses and sharing best practices with school partners
- Implementing the approach framework for early learning and childcare facilities for after-school services
- Promoting ongoing professional development opportunities for departmental staff, sector stakeholders and early childhood educators and providing guidance and support to the appropriate persons when they encounter situations going beyond their training and/or experience
- Monitoring the quality of implementation of the Curriculum éducatif and associated resources and analyzing Curriculum éducatif evaluation outcomes
- Aligning early childhood programs and services offered by partners with the Curriculum éducatif
Need To Have
Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
- Master's degree in education or early childhood education and at least five (5) years of experience in the field of early childhood development OR
- Bachelor's degree in education or early childhood education and at least seven (7) years of experience in the field of early childhood development and learning among children aged 0¿8.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Diverse experience and knowledge in early childhood development and learning
- Knowledge of the Curriculum éducatif ¿ Services de garde francophones du Nouveau-Brunswick
Written and spoken competence in French is required. Please state your language capability.

Wage
Pay Band 7: $86,970 - $105 222 annually.
Work Environment
- Office location: 250 King Street, Fredericton or telework in New Brunswick.
- Développement et apprentissage à la petite enfance has 12-15 members working as part of the broader team within the Secteur éducatif francophone
- Travel required within the province based on responsibilities (approximately 15¿20 times/year)
- Standard hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:15 to 4:30.
