Job Description
AANSEACORE is actively seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Street View Car Driver to contribute to our cutting-edge mapping and navigation services. This role combines driving responsibilities with technical expertise to operate specialized imaging equipment for capturing high-quality street-view photos. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our navigational and mapping data.
Skill / Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of driving experience plus a clear driving history record/abstract.
- Valid Class G driver's license with a clean government-issued driving record/abstract.
- Technical proficiency in operating imaging equipment or a willingness to undergo training.
- Excellent knowledge of traffic laws and regulations in Canada.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Ability to work independently, follow predefined routes, and meet capture goals.
- Attention to detail and commitment to capturing high-quality imagery.
- Physical ability to load and unload equipment as needed.
- Punctuality and reliability are crucial.
- Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance.
- Strong communication/collaboration skills and always responsive to a project team.
- Ability to drive multiple days continuously and to stay in hotels overnight.
- Preferred Canadian PR, Citizen.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency in both English and French (Bilingual)
- Experience with GPS navigation systems and mapping tools.
- Familiarity with imaging or photography equipment.
- Technical certifications in related fields.
- Knowledge of local routes and geography.
Job Responsibilities
- Driving Operations:
- Safely operate and navigate a specially equipped vehicle to capture street-view photos in designated areas.
- Adhere to predetermined routes and schedules, optimizing capture efficiency.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations during driving operations.
- Report road hazards, accidents, or incidents encountered during operations.
- Technical Imaging Operations:
- Operate and maintain specialized imaging equipment on the vehicle.
- Troubleshoot and address technical issues with imaging equipment promptly, as per given handbook/guidelines.
- Collaborate with our technical support teams to resolve equipment-related challenges.
- Ensure the proper functioning of imaging tools for optimal performance.
- Capture high-quality street view photos in accordance with project requirements.
- Data Management:
- Maintain accurate records of driving routes, equipment performance, and capture status.
- Collaborate with data processing teams to ensure the seamless transmission of Hard Disks with the captured imagery.
- Provide detailed feedback on routes, mapping discrepancies, and equipment improvements.
- Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance:
- Conduct routine inspections and general maintenance of the vehicle and imaging equipment.
- Keep the vehicle and equipment clean and in optimal condition at all times.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team for any required repairs or upgrades.
