Anglophone West School District (ASD-W) is currently seeking individuals to join our Human Resources Department as Human Resource Officers (HRO), with offices located in Fredericton, Oromocto and Woodstock. The location for these positions may be based on the successful candidate?۪s preference subject to operational requirements.
The Human Resources Department at ASD-W provides end-to-end HR support to over 3000 employees located across the district representing a variety of different business streams and services. Our five employee bargaining groups include teachers, educational support staff, custodial staff, bus drivers, professional support and management teams.
As a member of the Human Resources team, the successful candidate will be responsible to provide operational support based on the following areas of responsibility, as well as other related duties, programs and special projects as assigned.
HRO ??? Employee and Labour Relations ??? Education Centre Based - Areas of Responsibility
Major focus on employee and labour relations.
Research and/or interpret applicable policies or collective agreements to provide sound advice to all levels of the organization.
Work closely with the Director of Schools and provide direct HR services to schools within an Education Centre.
Performance management consulting.
HRO ??? Occupational Health & Wellness Coordinator - Areas of Responsibility:
Major focus on attendance management and programs such as WorkSafe NB, Homewood Health and Manulife.
Responsible for promotion of wellness activities for ASD-W.
The following positions will provide support to the new Human Resources and Payroll ??? Employee Resource Planning (ERP) Oracle Fusion system being implemented. We reserve the right to adjust assignments based on operational needs however, geographical locations will not change unless there is mutual consent. At this time, all vacancies falling under using the new system serve all staff in ASD-W but may work in a specific Education Centre.
HRO ??? Systems Analyst/Trainer - Areas Of Responsibility
Major focus on systems used in Part II, i.e. Apply to Education, Attendance Management (AESOP), and all other systems as required.
Provide training and ongoing support to staff at all levels of the organization.
HRO ??? Recruitment - Areas Of Responsibility
Major focus on talent acquisition for permanent and casual/supply employees.
HRO ??? Core HR - Areas Of Responsibility
Major focus on hiring employees into the ERP system, including updates to current employee status.
HRO ??? Benefits - Areas Of Responsibility
Major focus on benefit eligibility for all employee groups.
HRO ??? Time And Labour - Areas Of Responsibility
Major focus on validating employee work schedules to ensure replacements are assigned and paid correctly.
HRO ??? Absence - Areas Of Responsibility
Major focus on absence eligibility for all employee groups.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS : Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration.
University degree in business administration, public administration or in a related field, with a major in human resources.
A minimum of five years?۪ experience in human resources.
Experience in a supervisory capacity over a department or unit in complex setting.
Written and spoken competency in English.
Must be eligible to work in Canada.
Subject to the response to this competition, a combination of education and experience may be considered. In the event that there are no candidates that demonstrate the essential qualifications required for the PB 4 level, we may consider appointing at a lower classification.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate:
Coursework in human resources, a recognized Human Resources designation; diploma or certificate.
Experience working in a public education setting.
Experience working in a large complex (3000+ employees) unionized environment.
Experience working in a complex payroll setting.
Demonstrated computer literacy with strong skills in all MS Office products.
The incumbent must have excellent interpretation and analytical skills, and be able to work independently, accurately, and in a confidential manner.
Exceptional written, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications to be given further consideration.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The following operational requirement(s) are also required:
Occasional travel throughout the district may be required. As well, candidates must possess a valid driver?۪s license or be eligible to obtain one.

SALARY: This position is a Management Non-Union position and falls under Pay Band 4 range $54,548 to $76,284 per annum, based on 36.25 hours per week.
