Job Summary
Reporting to the Regional Manager of Strategic Procurement, the role of the Regional Equipment Coordinator ("Coordinator") is to act as an expert advisor and respondent on behalf of the Vitalit̩ Health Network ("VHN") in matters of replacements and new equipment purchases (medical and other) in hospitals and clinics. The coordinator advises, assists and supports management in their process of identifying and prioritizing their equipment needs. The coordinator plans, organizes, directs and coordinates activities leading to the purchase of prioritized equipment. The main objective is to support the organization in maintaining clinical services to the population and continuous development based on strategic directions. Equipment acquisition is an ongoing annual process to identify the appropriate equipment to replace and/or add at the opportune time. The coordinator is a key player in this exercise.
The coordinator's mandate is to implement and monitor the application processes to ensure compliance, efficiency and thoroughness. The coordinator, in addition to undertaking ongoing follow-ups with internal partners and requesters within the VHN, must interact regularly with external stakeholders to the VHN, such as SNB's Purchasing, Strategic Procurement and Clinical Engineering departments, as well as the New Brunswick Department of Health. These regional responsibilities encompass all of the VHN's facilities in zones 1B, 4, 5 and 6 of NB.
Requirements
- University or technical degree in biomedical engineering;
- Certification in project management is an asset;
- Equivalent training may be taken into consideration;
- Management experience as the person in charge of medical engineering in hospitals or in an organization providing medical engineering services to hospitals ??? 3 years minimum;
- Experience as an engineer or technician in biomedical or clinical engineering in or for hospitals ??? 5 years minimum;
- Experience that may be deemed equivalent to that above in a private organization whose field of expertise is related to medical equipment;
- Experience in project management, which could be considered an additional asset;
- Experience in process analysis and management, which could be considered an additional asset;
- Effective project leader;
- Ability to assess priorities;
- Effective communicator;
- Listening skills;
- Thoroughness;
- Ability to innovate and solve problems;
- Special interest in using, streamlining and developing processes;
- Critical thinking skills that spark questions to ensure the best choices;
- Administrative skills to monitor allocated budgets in relation to commitments as well as propose solutions;
- Adherence to the organization's ongoing improvement principles.
