The Mission
As a Video Conferencing & Collaboration Services Technical Analyst, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working alongside technical architects, specialists, and product managers. Do you thrive on new and innovative efforts that make a positive difference in people’s lives?

Primary Accountabilities
Reporting to the Manager, Video Conferencing & Collaboration Services, the Technical Analyst (CSO 3) specializes in multiple area(s), providing guidance and support services. This role ensures effective availability, deployment, decommissioning and maintenance in their specialty area(s) related to hardware, infrastructure, software, video conferencing, peripherals, communications equipment and IT assets for the Government of Nova Scotia in a manner that meets or exceeds the established customer service standards. This is a key role in our department and supports the core ITIL Service Support processes to ensure client excellence is provided at all times.
The Key Responsibilities You Will Have Are
- M365 Specialist in Teams
- Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) setup and maintenance
- Provincial Poly Video Conferencing infrastructure support and maintenance
- Tier 1 and 2 support of the Provincial Virtual Care network
- Maintaining and monitoring Digital Signage hardware and software
- Maintaining and monitoring Mass Notification SaaS
- Incident resolution and tier 1 escalations
- Change management submissions
- Participate in cross functional/cross departmental projects
- Work with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to turn requirements into user-centered services and help promote best practices
- Work across government and with various stakeholders and sectors to build collaborative relationships.
- Exhibit exceptional client service skills and provide timely and efficient service delivery within established standards
- Ensure end-users are well-informed of the necessary steps to resolve their issues
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude when interacting with end users, partners and coworkers.
Qualifications And Experience
To be successful in this role, you will possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science; or have graduated from a recognized Information Technology program (or the equivalent combination of training and experience).
You Will Also Have The Following Skills Or Experience
- Three plus (3+) years practical experience administering Microsoft Teams, digital signage and mass notification applications.
- Two plus (2+) years working experience with HP/Poly Video Conference line of products.
- Knowledge of M365 applications in an enterprise.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, staff, peers, and leadership.
- The ideal candidate will be flexible and adaptable to changing business priorities.
- Experience in Healthcare IT preferred.
- Knowledge of Government IT Security policies and procedures is considered an asset.
Assets
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Teams.
- Experience in managing HP/Poly video conferencing tools and equipment.
- Experience with Carousel and BrightSign Digital Signage equipment and tools.
- Aptitude for self directed learning.
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients.
- Experience supporting mission critical, enterprise environments, 24 x 7 x 365.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and standards.
Working Conditions
Will be required to be available for on call/overtime support after normal business hours due to the nature of the business. May be required to travel to locations across the Province of Nova Scotia to perform hardware and/or software maintenance as needed.
Additional Information
This is a temporary position that may be extended. A Temporary Employee shall be paid the applicable Collective Agreement rate of pay plus eleven percent (11%) biweekly in lieu of benefits.
