Utility Technician I [Halifax Water]

We are currently hiring for a
Utility Technician I. This
regular opportunity, in the Engineering and Technology Services Department, has
full time hours.
As a Utility Technician I, You Will
- Be responsible for the operation, maintenance, interrogation and configuration of the various SCADA Monitoring Systems throughout Halifax Water.
- Install, maintain and calibrate instrumentation, radio communication equipment, master meters, booster stations, generators and other associated electronic controls in the system.
- Perform maintenance to water boosting and fire pumping equipment.
- Support Wastewater staff in the operation of various pumping and treatment systems.
To Do This Job, You Need To Have
- Grade 12 plus an Electrical / Electronic Engineering Technologist Diploma (or equivalent technical certificate from a recognized educational institution).
- A minimum of five years related experience; including PLC programming and networking, systems integration, and HMI (Human Machine Interface) applications.
- A valid driver's license.
- The willingness to obtain a Water Distribution Operator Certificate -Level 2.
