Part-Time Tutoring Opportunity with LDANB
The Learning Disabilities Association of New Brunswick is seeking to interview and hire tutors to participate in our Barton Tutoring Program in the Woodstock region. This is an in-person position with a possibility of additional online hours.
The Barton Reading and Writing System is an internationally recognized system (based on the Orton-Gillingham approach) that has been designed to teach the fundamentals of reading and spelling by breaking down words into smaller, more manageable chunks. It teaches the phonemic structure of written language using a multi-sensory approach, which recognizes that people who struggle with reading and/or spelling learn best by involving all of their senses: visual, auditory, tactile and kinesthetic.
When: The ideal candidate will be available during the afterschool hours of 3:30pm-7:30pm, Monday - Thursday. Timings are somewhat flexible, but please note that our tutoring is done within this time frame.
Start Date: Training would start as soon as candidates are hired. Tutoring semester begins Spring 2024.
Where: Woodstock, NB
Qualifications:
A criminal background check including a vulnerable sector report must be completed prior to the start of tutoring, but is not required to apply.
