As a Senior Project Engineer you will work collaboratively to lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams on projects and/or programs using your engineering management, stakeholder and client relationship management skills. Your goal will be to help refine and entrench project engineering and third party engineering management best practices into our work processes. Paid Vacation – Plus an annual option to purchase additional vacation, too Wellness Support – With an annual wellness allowance, paid personal care days and a 24/7 Employee & Family Assistance Program Opportunity to give back to some amazing causes in our community – Choose when and where to make an impact with a paid volunteer day, company volunteer opportunities, and a donation matching program Your Responsibilities: Support the functional development and coaching/mentoring of a team of Project Engineers in engineering development (primarily FEL 2, FEL 3 and Detailed Engineering phases) Manage relationships with internal clients (Project and Program Managers) and third party engineering service providers Support continuous improvement of third party engineering management and engagement; including investigating third party engineering issues, making recommendations for improvement to internal and external engineering processes and procedures (and implementing recommendations). Support development of and execute against defined engineering resourcing strategies Hold internal and or third party engineering resources accountable to engineering deliverable schedule, effort hour/cost and quality commitments. Escalate and develop mitigation plans as appropriate. Ownership of the third party engineering sourcing process, including: selection of sourcing strategy, compilation of engineering scope packages, evaluation of submitted bids and recommendation to business leadership on the preferred service provider for the work Liaise with engineering disciplines, third party engineering companies, project managers and business unit operations / technical stakeholders for timely investigation, resolution and alignment on technical issues and design decisions. Work with Engineering Services team members to ensure all engineering work is compliant with specifications, and applicable codes and standards; analyze to verify there are no conflicts between disciplines. All projects must be fit-for-purpose. Your Skills : Knowledge of complex oil and gas design engineering concepts, practices, and procedures; including the interdependencies, methodologies and responsibilities of the varying design engineering disciplines (Process, Mechanical, Piping. CSA, Electrical and Instrumentation). Preference for discipline experience in developing engineering deliverables in FEED and Detailed Design phases Pragmatic analytical skills; proactive in identifying risks and solving problems. Excellent leadership, relationship and interpersonal skills; able to influence without authority and lead stakeholder alignment amongst various internal and external organizations. Coaching and mentoring of junior peers on effective project engineering practices including: problem resolution; stewarding decisions; change management; and monitoring and reporting progress Able to articulate technical concepts and other project information in a clear, concise way, in writing and verbally, through various Microsoft tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams. This position will require you to be in the field periodically so you must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, and climb heights, while wearing all required PPE. Your Experience: University degree in engineering, with a minimum of 15 years of engineering experience on capital projects in the oil and gas, power or heavy industry sectors. Minimum 8 years of this experience in multidisciplinary leadership and coaching P.Eng. designation, or immediate eligibility, is a requirement . PMP or other project management designation is an asset.
