Superintendent Project Controls (Underground) Join a family who cares about yours Diverse & challenging projects with our underground operations team Be part of a group that is safety driven and values inclusion About the role We are looking for a Superintendent Project Controls to join our project team delivering the world-class underground mine in Mongolia. This is a key role within the Owner’s team with the responsibility for the safe and timely delivery of the cave Production Infrastructure and accountable for providing technical expertise to the EL/HL construction team in the form of expert knowledge of UG Scheduling and Cost control and will be responsible for supporting the Construction to deliver relevant project plans as per the scopes of work. In addition, you will also be responsible for the training and upskilling of the National Schedulers and cost controllers for future construction works. Working 4 Weeks On/2 Weeks Off – FIFO or 5 days on 2 days off Residential roster and reporting to the Manager EL & HL Construction, you will be: Working with the project team to assist in defining the: Project work plans and schedule Resource plans Cost estimate Developing and applying fit-for-purpose project controls requirements, Project Controls Plan, and Basis of schedule to ensure agility while still maintaining governance Implementing standard project control services such as reporting, risk management, financial controls, data integration, schedule, and cost control Assist with defining the project goals and objectives, create and maintain project budget The project will require the project control manager to lead the project control function as well as perform planning, scheduling, progress measurement, cost estimating, cost forecasting and reporting activities The project control manager will participate in workshops, reviews and planning of the program strategy, direction, structure and approaches in order to maintain a focus on value and predictable delivery. For more information about OT site, please check out this video. Where you’ll be working Oyu Tolgoi is an operating Copper / Gold open pit mine with a brownfields underground mining project. The site is located in the Gobi Desert region of Mongolia. The reserves case for the underground project is in the order of 0.5 billion tonnes of ore to be mined from the 95,000 tonnes per day Hugo North Lift 1 (HNL1) panel cave mine with a 20-year operations life. There is also the potential for 3 further block cave districts to increase mine life beyond 100 years.
