About the role
The candidate will be a member of the Government Security Compliance Team as a Manager, overseeing a team committed to the implementation and enforcement of Government and Company Security Policy as it relates to program performance.
- The Security Program Manager is responsible for oversight of all Lockheed Martin Canada contracts to ensure compliance with Government and contract security requirements where applicable including the Controlled Goods Program, Contract Security Program, International Industrial Security Directorate and other domestic and foreign security policy where applicable.
- You will direct multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously with the support of dedicated program Security Representatives under your leadership.
- You will act as a Subject Matter Expert and resolve complex project security issues by leveraging your experience and contacts both internally and externally.
- You will Liaise and communicate with various customers and stakeholders on security matters and propose solutions to enable the program to meet key milestones and customer objectives.
- Develop and implement overall project security strategy, in the areas of physical, information and supply chain security.
- Represent LM on various related working group activities with customers, domestic and international government officials and international partners.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and guidance for team members and establish goals and objectives that align with program and business objectives.
- Recommend and participate in improvement initiatives across the security function when required, applying a broad knowledge set of all aspects of security as it relates to Lockheed Martin Canada and its operations.
What you bring to the role
- The successful candidate must have advanced knowledge and comprehension of the Contract Security Program and Defence contracting and be able to consult on the development, implementation, and resolution of program security requirements.
- The ability to be flexible and creative in developing and applying solutions that meet national security requirements in a way that enable us to be compliant with our customers’ expectations and contractual guidance.
- Need to have the experience, drive and demonstrated capability to lead a team and multiple programs provide technical excellence and mission success.
- Requires excellent leadership skills, including building relationships with team members, direct reports, and stakeholders.
- Be self-driven and results oriented, capable of effectively working multiple tasks concurrently and across an ambiguous and uncertain landscape.
- Applies business-minded and risk-managed solutions to security issues and business challenges and communicates observations and recommendations to leadership and programs.
- Utilizes knowledge of the CSP, International Security requirements and previous experience to anticipate security related program issues and proactively works to mitigate and avoid these where possible.
- Frequent interaction with high-level internal and external customers as well as cross-discipline and cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent written, verbal, and customer interface skills.
- Works well in group dynamics with the confidence to be a lead.
Language Requirements in Quebec
Knowledge of the English language is required for this role as the position described in this posting requires the candidate to communicate every day with a virtual team outside Quebec as well as communicate with different members of the organization, clients and suppliers located outside of Canada. For engineering positions, the candidate must also be able to read or modify technical documents from our main clients and write technical documents for these same clients.
