Job Description

This position will involve both work in our prep kitchen and work as a line Cook

Job responsibilities will include:

• Performing routine kitchen tasks.
• Checking par levels to create and/or follow prep lists to plan and organize daily requirements.
• Receiving and storing food orders twice weekly.
• Labelling and storing all ingredients so they can be organized and easily accessible.
• Measuring ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking.
• Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other meal prep.
• Set up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes.
• Undertake basic cooking duties, such as reducing sauces, baking and par-cooking menu items.
• Ensuring that all food and other items are stored properly.
• Maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash.
• Comply with food safety, cleaning and sanitation guidelines.
• Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.

Prep Cook Qualifications / Skills:

• 2 years experience
• Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques
• Organizational skills
• Patience
• Manual dexterity
• Communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to stand for 8 hours
• Ability to lift 50 pounds

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $15.00-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 ??? 44 per week
