The First Nations in the area that UCN serves entered into treaty relationships with the Crown (within our region these include signatories to treaties 4, 5 - and the treaty 5 adhesion, and treaty 6 - located within the treaty 5 adhesion). DUTIES The Photographer/Videographer is responsible for creating visually compelling content that effectively communicates UCN's brand to uphold UCN's mission, values, and programs. This role involves photography, videography, and post-production editing to produce marketing materials, promotional videos, internal communication assets, and event coverage. Duties include capturing campus life and event highlights using a variety of equipment and tools; editing and preparing content for media release; collaborating with marketing and communications teams, as well as other internal departments; maintenance of equipment; copyright and privacy compliance; and continuous learning to stay up to date with best practices. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS  Bachelor of Arts with a major in Communications, or a Liberal Arts Undergraduate Degree; a combination of related education and experience may be considered,  Proficient photograph/videography skills,  Experience handling professional equipment,  Strong portfolio showcasing diverse, high-quality work; ideally with an educational context,  Strong knowledge of photo and video editing software,  Effective communication skills,  Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment,  Strong interpersonal skills  Effective time management skills  Commitment to life-long learning ASSETS  Drone operations skills in aerial photography/videography,  Graphic design skills,  Familiarity with social media platforms and storytelling techniques for diverse audiences,  Experience with capturing academic events, campus life, and educational programs,  Copyright knowledge,  Experience and/or knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures.
