Posting Period Open: January 3, 2024 Deadline: January 16, 2024 Non-Union Department Name Physiotherapy- UH Medicine The Physiotherapist (PT) is accountable for providing physiotherapy services on the Medicine Unit at University Hospital as part of the physiotherapy team. The successful candidate will support collaborative, patient centred, evidence informed care and is accountable for providing physiotherapy services as required. The PT will value an interprofessional approach and will participate in program development and quality improvement initiatives. The PT will report to the Physiotherapy Manager. Shifts include Monday – Friday, weekends, statutory holidays and On Call. Temporary Full-Time Rate of Pay: $41.31 per hour to $51.63 per hour Hours of Work: 37.5 hours weekly Duration: January 21, 2024 - April 8, 2025 Qualifications Successful Completion of an Undergraduate Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy Completion of Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy preferred Current Registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario Current membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association preferred Clinical experience in the acute care setting Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Workload Measurement software (Infomed) Demonstrated ability to ensure an evidence-informed approach to patient care Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively to promote interprofessional practice and achieve optimal patient care Proven critical thinking and conflict resolution skills Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication skills (both verbal and written), leadership and teaching skills Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and function independently Demonstrated committed to ongoing learning for the purpose of improving patient outcomes through seeking, creating, applying, disseminating and translating knowledge Excellent information research skills Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s vision, purpose and values Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis Immunization Requirements: Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to: Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis; Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step); Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health’s current definition of being fully vaccinated For more information visit https://www.lhsc.on.ca/careers/health-review-requirements We are committed to providing a safe, healthy and inclusive work environment that inspires respect. ?LHSC is committed to employment equity and diversity in the workplace and welcomes applications from equity-denied groups including Indigenous people, racialized people, women, persons with disabilities, and 2SLGBTQIA+ persons.
