Are you an Infrastructure Architect looking for a new opportunity?Are you looking for a new contract opportunity?We are pleased to offer you a new contract opportunity for you to consider: Infrastructure ArchitectStart: ASAPEstimated length: 6 monthsLocation: TorontoHybrid remote work, onsite twice a weekAdvantagesYou will have an opportunity to work with a leading employer in the local market.Potential for contract extension, conversion to full time employment.ResponsibilitiesProvides strategic guidance ensuring technology teams and business areas understand the architectural options and technology choices that account for total cost of ownership, Lead, design and/or develop an architecture framework including technology domain architecture strategy, policies, guiding principles and standards to govern how technology solutions will be developed and implemented.Develop enterprise or segment technology roadmaps and associated plans.Review project blueprints: Segment Architect approves, or vetoes blueprints based on alignment to enterprise standards.Advises on how best to design overall solutions.Oversee/define development specifications, technical requirements, system performance objectives and identify system modifications required to meet objectives.Research/analyze business requirements to evaluate and recommend optimal solutions within technology architecture.Provide expert consultation and participate as the top technical expert on the highest risk and complex initiatives / projects.Provide insight and recommendations to develop and implement system architecture within business units and/or IT departments while creating awareness of the total cost of ownership. Influence vendors in product design through subject matter expertise and may develop and/or contribute to negotiations of third-party contracts/agreements where applicable.Build consensus and facilitate collaboration and decision making within/across business units/business leaders/IT professionals, vendors, and outsourced partners to ensure consistent application of IT strategy and compliance with architecture framework.Contribute to the development of project plans by providing input and manage projects/initiatives by directing assigned resources, communicating project status, and providing timely escalation of issuesEnsure projects are compliant with technology domain architecture and design/operate processes to provide ongoing review of in-progress activity against technology architecture and development standards. Identify, recommend, source, negotiate and implement emerging IT trends, developments, and improvements /solutions (buy / build / reuse).Comply with well-defined enterprise technology delivery practices and standards and project management disciplines.Apply industry/technical knowledge to provide solutions that increase business results and/or minimize risk.Conduct pre and post implementation reviews, ensuring all technical solutions have met business requirements.Protect/enhance the security, availability of technology, brand integrity and shareholder value by establishing parameters for continued investment in technology solutions, and by providing technical risk analysis and assessment. Provide guidance to technology teams and business partners understand the architectural options and technology choices that account for total cost of ownership, risk and leverage strategic enterprise assets.Contribute to the ongoing development of the team and business partners by sharing information, knowledge and lessons learned on a regular basis.May coach, lead and/or develop others. Work effectively as a team, supporting other members of the team in achieving business objectives and providing client services.Support a positive work environment that promotes customer service, quality, innovation, and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest.Lead in knowledge transfer meetings / forums with senior management, the team, other technical areas, and business unit’s contributor role with expert knowledge of specific domain or broad range of architecture frameworks, technology, tools, processes, and procedures, as well as broader organization issues and relevant technology.Provides technical leadership / consulting / direction to a larger team on all aspects of architecture to ensure advanced learning occurs.Foresees architectural issues / gaps and identifies emerging industry trends (i.e., future focused).Influences product direction and integrates technology from an architectural perspective within the business environment; fulfills an IT governance role.Provides recommendations on value-added architectural improvements / enhancements.QualificationsAzure CertifiedESXi, private (VMC) and public cloud (Azure), x86 commodity hardware, MainframeLinux, Windows, z/OSJBoss, NodeJS, SpringbootDatabase – Oracle RAC, MS SQL, Mongo, CassandraStorage – SAN, DAS & NASHA (High Availability) & DR (Disaster Recovery) designsNetwork, especially DNS, load balancing and firewallsSecuritysome knowledge of iSeries/AS400, pSeries/AIX, Websphere Application Server, SPARC/Solaris3 - 7 years proven experience leading major projectsSelf-starter with leadership and organization skillsStrong communication and presentation skills (oral and written)SummaryDo you have this experience?
