JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a hardworking and reliable general construction labourer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and the ability to work well in a physically demanding environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Load, unload and transport construction materials
• Instruct apprentices
• Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
• Assemble tower cranes on site
• Help medical examiner in charge
• Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction
• Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs
• Level earth to fine grade specifications
• Pave and rake asphalt
• Clean and pile salvaged materials
• Perform pre-operational inspection, and calculate crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting
• Perform routine maintenance work
• Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
• Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
• Direct traffic at or near construction sites
• Read and interpret blueprints
