Welcome to Light Your Journey Family Services! We are seeking child and youth workers to support our rapidly growing respite care services. This position will require staff to work at various locations such as foster homes, community agencies, or out in the community. Staff will be able to accept or decline shifts as they wish, and attend shifts that align with their location and schedule. The position will require that all staff have a valid G license, access to a personal and reliable vehicle, with the willingness to drive to various job sites and the occasional transportation of clients. As our services cater to children with emotional/social and behavioural difficulties, we require staff who have the ability to remain resilient in stressful situations, and be able to provide empathetic and trauma-informed approaches. Job responsibilities can fluctuate based on the individuals needs and program plans. This may include facilitating therapeutic programming, engaging in 1-on-1 activities, supporting children/youth out in the community. Requirements: Must be a graduate of a recognized Child and Youth Care Diploma/Degree program and eligible for registration with the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Workers. Must have G license and access to a personal and reliable vehicle, with the willingness to occasionally transport clients for programming needs. Valid First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon offer of employment Ability to provide a clear vulnerable sector police check Valid safe intervention certification considered an asset (ie UMAB, PMAB, SMG, NVCI, BMS, etc).
