ORGANIZATIONAL PROFILEDivisions of Family Practice are an innovation in health care in B.C., designed to support community-based family physicians, increase primary health care capacity, and improve patient health outcomes. The Central Okanagan Division of Family Practice is a non-profit cooperative governed by a physician-led board of directors. Our 350 members are family physicians who practice in the communities of Kelowna, West Kelowna, Lake Country, and Peachland.About The RoleReporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the organization according to the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors. The Executive Director has direct oversight of operations including organizational leadership, financial management, member programming and engagement, and day-to-day operations. The Executive Director builds and maintains strong relationships with the Board, staff, health care providers, local health authority, government, and the broader community with a demonstrated commitment to improving the health system and care for patients.The Division has helped develop and implement Primary Care Networks (PCNs) across our four communities, a primary care initiative between our Division, local First Nations, and Interior Health. In this capacity, the Executive Director provides leadership, supervision, and mentoring to Division staff including those directly engaged with the PCN. The Division directly manages two funding streams within PCN and works in partnership with Interior Health and local First Nations to administer other PCN funds.This is an ambitious and dynamic opportunity for a non-profit leader who brings a demonstrated commitment to and passion for community-based primary care, community engagement and supporting effective partnerships. The ideal candidate will have strong strategic and organizational abilities with excellent interpersonal, communications, financial, and member-service skills.
