In this pivotal role, reporting to the Director of Total Compensation & HR Operations, you will take the lead in translating strategic recommendations into actionable plan that support of Centennial’s strategic initiatives and values.As the Manager, Compensation, you will be responsible for driving innovation and excellence in all aspects of Compensation and Job Evaluation. You will take the lead in shaping compensation frameworks and the strategic direction that support Centennial College’s mission, provide governance to ensure fairness and compliance, and drive continuous improvement based on industry trends and corporate objectives.In this role, key responsibilities include:Contribute to the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental strategy, aligning with the College's goals and objectives.Lead the research, competitive analysis, development, costing, implementation and communication of compensation and job evaluation programs, procedures, policies, and compensation processes.Participates actively in the review process of the overall compensation structure etc. and leads the translation of the recommendations into actionable plans, including job architecture system, job evaluation process, pay structure and incentive plan.Develops compensation frameworks that support the College goals and objectives.Provide governance to the job evaluation process to ensure the program is compliant, fair and internally equitable.Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation and job evaluation practices and recommend changes that are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.Administer executive compensation including alignment to the Broader Public Sector Executive Compensation Act.Oversees faculty compensation including the salary calculation process, faculty vacation calculations, attendance administration, and transcript validation, for all contract and FT employees.Establish and monitor key performance metrics and benchmarks to track progress and measure the impact Compensation/job evaluation on institutional goals.Provides ongoing consultative advice, guidance, recommendations and support to managers and HR partners to ensure the fair, consistent, equitable, and compliant application of compensation and job evaluation programs including pay equity, pay administration, compensation policy interpretation.Provides leadership, oversight and coaching to a team of compensation analysts.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree (4 year) in a related discipline such as Human Resource Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), and/or CHRP designation considered an asset.Seven (7) years of progressive Human Resources experience with demonstrated in-depth experience working in compensation, job evaluation, and pay equity. Experience in a post-secondary educational environment an asset.Experience leading or supporting large organization wide projects from conception to implementation.Experience working in a unionized environment would be an asset.Advanced proficiency with MS Excel is necessary.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and resolve contentious issues.Proven track record of building relationships with key stakeholders, vendors, and clients.Demonstrated experience in project management.Demonstrated ability to lead a team, and to motivate and empower staff.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders with a clear focus on inclusion, diversity, equity and a decolonialized mindset.Excellent communication skills including the ability to facilitate, present complex information, as well as to negotiate and persuade others.Proof of credentials or equivalencies from accredited regional or federal post secondary institutions and/or their foreign equivalents will be required at the time of job offer.
