If you have a culinary background, excellent cooking skills, and the ability to manage kitchen operations, we invite you to apply for this position.Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificateExperience: 1 year to less than 2 years, or equivalent experienceWork Setting: RestaurantRanks of chefs: ChefResponsibilities:Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to support efficient kitchen management.Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff to enhance their culinary skills.Supervise the activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers to ensure a harmonious and productive kitchen environment.Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff to maintain a high standard of food preparation and service.Prepare and cook food regularly or for special guests or functions, ensuring culinary excellence.Estimate food requirements and food and labour costs to support budgeting and cost control.Plan menus and ensure that food meets quality standards, creating an outstanding dining experience.Recruit and hire kitchen staff as needed.Train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safe food handling practices.Supervision: 5-10 peopleWork Conditions and Physical Capabilities:Work in a fast-paced environment.Work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Physically demanding tasks.Attention to detail.Combination of sitting, standing, and walking.Stand for extended periods.Personal Suitability:Dependability.Efficient interpersonal skills.Excellent oral communication.Flexibility.Initiative.Organized.Reliability.Team player.Work Term: PermanentWork Language: English or FrenchHours: 35 to 40 hours per week
