Job Title:: Financial Controller
Location: Bathurst
Salary : 100k - 110K+ depending on experience

Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily financial reporting for the plant, spanning from receiving to shipping and beyond.
- Prepare monthly and yearly financial statements.
- Manage the distribution of Purchase Orders (POs) and approve invoices for payment.
- Review and approve production costs before entry into Sage 500.
- Continuously enhance and ensure financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) meet forecasted levels, covering areas such as inventory, labor costs, overheads, and distribution.
- Develop and implement annual production projections and budgets, ensuring their execution.
- Analyze daily production costs with managers to meet margin requirements, implementing corrective measures as needed.
- Handle the preparation and submission of financial assistance, insurance claims, and other claims to institutions.
- Manage the foreign workers' file, completing applications following CRA and IRCC guidelines.
- Participate in plant audits, leading corrective actions with the administration team.
- Oversee and participate in certification programs like ECCP and others.
- Support and update the CTPAT program.
- Supervise financial product processing to ensure actual production costs align with forecasts.
- Coordinate documentation for finished products and special customer orders as defined by the sales and marketing department.
- Propose changes to maximize business profitability and implement approved adjustments.
- Engage in the development and implementation of new projects, products, and cash management, documenting their files.
- Actively contribute to decision-making for effective company management and goal achievement.
- Serve as a company representative at industry or government meetings and seminars.
Qualifications
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field.
- Possess advanced knowledge of Sage 500 and ADP's Work Force Now Software.
- Have hands-on experience in seafood plant accounting.
- Hold a professional accounting designation.
- Accumulate five to eight years of accounting experience in food processing or a related industry.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in both French and English.
- Be willing to relocate within commuting distance from the plant.
- Exhibit advanced Excel skills and high proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of federal financial regulations.
- Demonstrate a strong ability to build effective relationships within and outside the company.
