Junior Financial Accountant

Job Description

Atlantica is seeking qualified candidates for a Junior Financial Accountant in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The Junior Financial Accountant is a key member of our Finance team reporting directly to the Director of Finance. In this role, you will provide day-to-day reconciliation, analysis, and financial support to Atlantica and its associated entities.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Finance and working in an exciting and collaborative environment, you will:

  • Support daily, weekly, and month-end financial reporting which includes:
    • Intercompany billing and reconciliations.
    • Balance sheet account reconciliations for cash, prepaid expense, and property plant and equipment.
    • Compilation of financial reporting packages for stakeholder review
  • Support daily, weekly, and month-end accounting procedures which includes
    • Inventory management and job costing
    • Cash and banking reconciliation support, including company credit cards.
    • Accounts payable reconciliation and analysis.
    • Accounts receivable collections, reconciliation, and analysis.
    • Payroll timesheet collection, input, and analysis.
  • Complete specific projects within Finance & Accounting with a focus on workflow efficiency and continuous process improvement.
  • Other Finance and Accounting duties as assigned

Who are we looking for?

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Enrollment in or desire to enroll in the Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) program
  • Financial experience in a multi-company environment is considered an asset
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office required (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Experience and proficiency with Jonas Accounting software an asset

Job Details:

  • Permanent, full-time
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday
