Our goal is to work alongside our customers to provide scalable manufacturing capacity and to help them accelerate innovation in bringing their products from benchtop to bedside or field. About Our Opportunity: Reporting to Director of Business Development, this position will be responsible to extend our reach through expert cultivation of new, untapped business opportunities and relationships across Canada and Globally. The incumbent will be trusted to connect Northern RNA Inc. to new clients, partners, and global market opportunities, leading to revenue generation. The incumbent will be a dynamic and highly motivated individual who is comfortable working within a fast-paced environment. The incumbent will be a key contributor to expanding Northern RNA’s customer base in the cell and gene therapy sector. Primary Responsibilities: Identify potential customers and sales opportunities for the cell and gene therapy sector Participate actively in the development of strategic marketing plans, tactical marketing materials, and driving complex sale of nucleic acid products. Assist in the development of annual sales forecasts, budget requirements, and sales plan of actions for the business unit. Take a lead role in developing new-business proposals and presentations that create and nurture opportunities and partnerships. Identify trends and customer needs, building a sales pipeline for short/medium/long term in accordance with targets. Assist in the coordination and implementation of marketing strategies to achieve strategic goals. Identify, qualify, and execute contracts on cap analogs, cell banks, plasmid DNA, and mRNA projects that are in agreement with our internal capabilities. Manage proposal response process, including detailed RFP requirements, content creation, and inputs from various sources. Generate new leads, identify, and screen potential business opportunities, select deals in line with strategies, and facilitate pitch logistics. Support deal structure and pricing with business-value analysis and negotiate prices for proactive bids and proposals. Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events. Identify and contact potential clients through networking and marketing methods. Arrange business development meetings with prospective clients. Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs. Promote the company’s products/services addressing clients’ objectives Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support. Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers. Occasionally travel internationally to customer sites to conduct in-person meetings and build relationships May perform other related duties as assigned. Education, Work Experience, Knowledge, and Skills: Formal Education: Bachelor’s degree in science (preferably Life sciences, Chemical/Biochemical engineering), business, marketing, or related field. Work Experience: Minimum 4 years of working experience in business development, sales or a related roles in the cell and gene therapy sector Experience in customer support is a plus Knowledge and Skills: Strong understanding of the nucleic acid products is preferred Familiarity with cGMP would be considered an asset Successful track record in B2B sales and negotiation Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to present responses to clients, prepare reports, and maintain communication with internal and external clients Excellent Time management and planning skills Experience in sales techniques Proficiency in data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting Proven ability to plan and manage resources Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software Ability to deliver presentations effectively Ability to explain complex concepts clearly Ability plan and organize sales presentations, meeting, marketing strategies Working conditions: Physical environment: Primarily in an office environment. Sitting for long periods of time and inside office room. Regular use of computer equipment. Will be expected to travel as needed to client sites and company locations, both locally, across Canada and internationally. Periodic weekend or evening work may occur. Physical effort: Visually demanding using computer monitors, sitting for long periods of time. Sensory Attention: Regularly needs to read/interpret written materials and interpret data requiring a high degree of concentration and accuracy.
