For over 25 years, Stardale Women's Group has empowered the lives of Indigenous girls, strengthened their families, and inspired communities to engage in the core values of reconciliation. We are currently seeking On-Call and Part-Time FEMALE Program Support Workers to join our expanding team. We provide comprehensive Life Skills and Literacy after school programming for at-risk Indigenous girls (10-17) in Calgary. Key Responsibilities include: 1. Transportation: Safely transport participants within Calgary using personal vehicles. Primarily on Mon/Wed evenings between 4:30-9pm and occasional weekends for special events. 2. Relationship Building: Foster empowering relationships through mentoring and coaching. Align activities with Indigenous teachings and program goals. 3. Risk Management: Identify participant risks, and communicate to Program Coordinator. Collaborate on risk mitigation strategies. 4. Participant Relations: Establish open communication with participants and caregivers. Organize one-on-one events for deeper connections. 5. Stardale Ambassadorship: Represent Stardale positively in program activities. Engage with participants, caregivers, and the community. Qualifications: Varied educational backgrounds and experiences considered. Preference given to those with experience in Youth and Child Care, Social Work, Psychology, etc. Critical thinking, strong motivational, relationship, and problem-solving skills. Preferred: experience with vulnerable youth and Indigenous communities. CPR/First Aid, Trauma Informed Care certifications. Valid license, clean record, reliable vehicle. Current Police and Vulnerable Record Checks. Core Competencies: Child and youth development understanding. Effective participant engagement and empowerment. Inclusive, welcoming program promotion. Positive Indigenous community relationships. Purpose of Stardale Community Programming : Provide supervised (life skills building) activities for female Indigenous youth between the ages of 10-17 years in a holistic setting Promote Indigenous culture and ways of knowing Build caring relationships and safe spaces that encompass coaching and mentoring Identify community supports and nurture natural supports These are Fee for Service opportunities ranging from 5-20hrs/week.
