The Four Points by Sheraton - Kelowna Airport is currently looking for a Steward.We are also on a bus route, with a stop just outside of the hotel, and are offering shared staff accommodation. Our complimentary shuttle also picks up our employees from the bus loop at UBCO!What will you be doing?Ensure that soiled dishes are stacked properly so that they can be picked easily for washing purposes. Collect soiled dishes from around the kitchen. Assist the line with bringing frying pans back to the soaking sinks.Clean dishes and flatware with water and green scrubby or metal scrubby in order to clear them of dirt and food debris.Rinse all food off before dishes go through the dishwasher.Place washed dishware and flatware on drying racksCheck dishwasher drain trays, and sprayers for clogs and blockages. Clean as needed.Remove washed dishes from the dishwasher and make arrangements to dry them if needed.Stack dishes properly in cupboards, and only where they are supposed to go.Maintain dish pit area, clean equipment, watch chemicals, clean walls, and take out kitchen garbage as needed.Sweep kitchen floor and clean spills as needed.Mop stockrooms and report any hazardous situations to the kitchen or maintenance managerEnsure that all dish cleaning equipment and supplies are stocked properlyAssist kitchen staff with food preparation duties when neededWhat are we looking for?Hard working, dedicated and reliableAttention to detail and cleanlinessAbility to solve problems as they arise, and anticipate upcoming issuesGood communication skillsPrevious experience as asset, but not mandatoryAbility to work solo or as a teamPerks:Staff Accommodation Extended Health and Dental BenefitsEmployee and Family Assistance ProgramWorld-wide accommodation and dining discounts with Marriott brandsEmployee discounts on accommodations, dining, Marina, and Heath & Wellness services at our sister properties (Hotel Eldorado, Manteo Resort and Eldorado Marina, and Hampton Inn & Suites Kelowna Airport).
