Patrollers provide the highest level of customer service to our guests to ensure a safe and positive experience. Responsible for the ongoing safety of our guests by monitoring trail conditions and managing them effectively. You will be actively visible and communicating protocols with guests in lift lines, offering assistance in customer service, wayfinding, determining if guests are skiing/boarding on the appropriate terrain for their abilities and ensuring guests have the appropriate pass to be on hill. Patrollers will participate in accident investigation, litigation, and first aid calls, including fatalities. Patrollers will work alongside all Patrol Services members, proactively maintaining a safe environment with ahigh level of care and customer service for our guests and staff. Checking and monitoring trail conditions - first to encounter and mitigate minor/major hazards before public and staff access, while actively promoting education and upholding the Alpine Responsibility Code Full Time/ Part Time Seasonal Hourly Rate: $19.15/hr WHAT WILL I BE DOING? Render First Response level of first aid care, and offer assistance to all those in need Responsible for performing incident investigations, and completing documentation (photo documentation, statements, report forms, daily sweep sheets etc.), participating in third party investigations as required, appearing in court as required, working in collaboration with the BMR Risk Management team; preforming all required aspects of an investigation with the highest standard of care Responsible for maintaining and reporting required maintenance of first response equipment (ATV, RTV, transport trailers, toboggans, trauma kits, AEDs, first aid supplies) - including, checking readiness, replacing required items as needed Endeavor to deliver the safe operation of hills/trails/activities - free of hazards during operating hours, meeting the operating expectations as they relate to guest experience, safety, and effectiveness Responsible for maintaining personal equipment (skis, snowboard, bike, protective equipment) in accordance with BMR standards Must have legal awareness of privacy laws and the required standard of care to be provided as a First Responder Evacuation procedures and protocols in accordance with BMR standards of all attractions and lifts when required, including, participation in any search and rescue missions WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU? Must be 18 years of age Must be registered or hold current First Responder level First Aid or equivalent certifications with a minimum of HCP-CPR Must have valid G Ontario driver's license Strong Intermediate skier/snowboarder/flexible to work all shifts and maneuver all areas of the resort during operating hours Drive ATV and RTV response unit with BMR training provided Ski/snowboard with loaded and unloaded toboggan with BMR training provided Must function at high cognitive level, and be alert to surroundings Knowledge of the resort is an asset Successful applicants will be required to complete a criminal background check Must have required equipment that meets the BMR standard (skis/snowboard/protective equipment) Must participate and complete weekly trainings Have physical fitness in keeping up with a consistently physically demanding environment Ability to lift, and assist injured guests and staff Ability to access and maneuver in an uncontrolled environment BLUE MOUNTAIN RESORT COMPANY OVERVIEW Blue Mountain Resort is Ontario's largest mountain resort.
