Login to your McGill Workday account and apply to this posting using the Find Jobs report (type Find Jobs in the search bar).Position SummaryThe Healthy Brains, Healthy Lives (HBHL) initiative is a high profile, high priority multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral initiative located at McGill University made possible with support from the Canada First Research Excellence Fund (CFREF), Quebec’s Ministère de l'Économie, de la Science et de l'Innovation (MESI), and the Fonds de recherche du Quebec (FRQS, FRQSC and FRQNT). HBHL builds on McGill’s scientific excellence and global leadership in areas of neuroscience that hold the greatest promise for delivering implementable, clinically effective outcomes in brain and mental health.Reporting to the HBHL Managing Director and CEO, the Senior Advisor, Metrics and Reporting is responsible for all aspects of data collection, analysis and reporting for HBHL. The incumbent works with guidance from the Associate Director of Funding and Reporting to prepare regular reports for funders, the HBHL Board of Directors and other stakeholders. The Senior Advisor develops and implements detailed project management plans to ensure data is collected from a variety of sources to meet internal and external reporting deadlines. The incumbent has the primary responsibility of tracking and maintaining data on progress against HBHL’s Performance Measurement Plan, including key performance indicators (KPIs), and flagging any concerns to the Managing Director and appropriate HBHL team members as necessary.Primary ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement processes, tools and templates to collect and analyze metrics related to HBHL’s performance measurement plan, including KPIs across a broad range of areas including, research output, leveraged funds, commercialization, EDI, etc.Provide professional expertise in the development and implementation of policies, programs and systems that support metrics and reporting related to the HBHL initiative.Track progress against defined KPIs and flag concerns and make recommendations on lagging indicators, as necessary. Implement short-term goals and objectives related to the functions of this role.Liaise with the HBHL financial Officer to contribute to the development of templates for budget forecasts.Track expenditures and develop forecasts for HBHL research and operational funds and prepare reports on same, as directed by the Managing Director.Prepare reports for the HBHL Board of Directors, HBHL funders and other committees, as required.With support and guidance from the Managing Director and Associate Director, Programs and Reporting, ensure timely and accurate filing of reports to relevant government agencies.Track leveraged funding from HBHL researchers and other partners with support from other HBHL team members.Support the Managing Director in responding to data requests from internal and external stakeholders.Liaise with professional and administrative staff at McGill Office of the Vice-Principal (Research & Innovation), Office of Sponsored Research, industry and partnership, Research Finance and Management Services and other relevant offices or departments at McGill or its CFREF partner institutions.Other Qualifying Skills And/or AbilitiesFunction with an exceptional level of accuracy, strategic judgment and efficiency. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French. Strong organizational skills. Able to effectively prioritize a wide range of responsibilities. Ability to perform as a productive team member in the context of complex inter-related projects and teams. Meticulous in documenting follow-up actions regarding ongoing files. Experience overseeing and managing projects. Proficiency in use of MS Office software, in particular excellent skills with Excel (including merging, compiling, lookups, data checks and quality control). Experience with creating and writing reports, (including text content, tables, and graphs). Working knowledge or experience using Banner (FIS), Minerva and Crystal Reports is an asset. “Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.
