Our Collingwood or Thornbury office is currently seeking a full-time, permanent Sr. Accountant , reporting to the Sr. Manager. Dedicated team players with a strong work ethic will be considered for increased responsibilities and personal growth. Start Date : Immediate Location: Hybrid - 3 days per week in the office. Salary : $60,000 - $80,000 (depending on experience) Benefits: Competitive compensation Up to 10% annual bonus Paid CPA fees Commission on new client acquisitions Flexible hours $1,500 annual Wellness, Health, and fitness incentive 3% RRSP matching Friday’s off in the summer Generous paid time off (3 weeks vacation) Responsibilities for this position include: Compilation and review of client information and working paper file preparation Year-end planning for various clients Supervising engagements and related tax filings within a paperless office environment Completion of assurance engagements with teams of 1 – 4 team members Identifying and resolving engagement issues Training and mentoring junior staff on engagements Preparation of Compilation and Review Engagement reports Preparation of personal tax returns Ensuring the clients’ satisfaction with the firm’s services Providing timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations Identifying and cultivating new service or tax planning opportunities for clients The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following: A college or university degree in Accounting, Finance or Business A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in public accounting or a similar finance role CPA designation in Canada or in progress would be considered a strong asset Experience managing large engagements Tech savvy; proven technical skills in accounting In-depth working knowledge of accounting and tax Sound working knowledge of accounting principles Advanced accounting, tax, and software knowledge, i.e.: Tax Prep, CaseWare, Sage and QuickBooks Advanced working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) As a Leader, you are an active listener, empathetic, and can share clear messages and make complex ideas easy to understand.
