Position Summary: The Research Assistant will assist Prof. Tasmia Hai in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, in terms of coordination and administrative and logistical tasks related to research with children and families with attention and behavioral problems. This research will also include conducting standardized assessments and neuroimaging. This Research Assistant will work with Prof. Hai as a research coordinator on several interrelated studies related to attention and behavior problems in children and newcomer and immigrant families. The position is an opportunity for someone looking to develop or expand their research with children with neurodevelopmental disorders. List of Duties for the position: Assist with all aspects of research coordination, including, but not limited to, taking minutes at meeting, following up with individuals concerning tasks, and other duties specified below: Duties for position Support with Participant recruitment Data Collection Assist with ethics approvals and grant writing. Assist as needed with the day-to-day operation of the lab. Assist with completing standardized cognitive and academic assessments Supervise undergraduate research students Prepare results for publication in scientific journals Any other tasks that the position requires. Weekend availability will be required Qualifications: Holds a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree in a related and appropriate field (e.g., Psychology, Psychiatry, Neuroscience or related disciplines). Candidates from other disciplines are also welcome to apply if they meet other eligibility criteria. At least 2 years of research assistance experience or related project management experience. Experience working with children and families is a requirement. Excellent ability to communicate in English AND French, both spoken and written, is essential. Excellent organizational skills and conscientiousness and interest in clerical work are essential. Good communication skills and creativity. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Office) including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams, and of Zoom. Knowledge of other relevant computer software or web application (e.g. NVivo, Zotero) will be considered an asset. Knowledge of statistical softwares such as SPSS will be considered an asset Capacity to learn to work with university financial and human resources softwares. Authorized to work in Canada for the duration of the position. Workplace This position will require mostly in-person work at the McGill University downtown campus and the Douglas Research Centre and some remote work opportunities. Office space as well as any equipment needed for work at home will be provided. Salary Salary will conform with minimum established in the AMURE collective agreement, based on selected applicant's background and expertise.
