Job Description
We are seeking a Project Manager(s) to join our high-performance tree planting team. Since 1957, we have planted over a billion trees, and we pride ourselves on investing in and delivering on best-in-class programs making us one of the most trusted tree growing companies in Canada. Reporting to the General Manager, the Project Manager for our tree planting operations is a key member of the Management Team. We are looking for a self-motivated leader with a strong sense of initiative and ability to manage change and high performing teams. The Project Manager achieves results through others by providing clear communication, effective coaching, and addressing employee concerns to promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and strong engagement. The Project Manager will oversee planting operations, crews, camps, and systems for the summer plant (May-July) and fall plant (Sept-October). In the other months, the Project Manager will contribute to other operational, planning, continuous improvement, and recruitment activities. You will bring: Minimum 3 years’ supervisory/management experience in tree planting operations Minimum NB class 5 equivalent with willingness to obtain NB class 4 equivalent Must be available to work rotating schedule during planting months (3 days on 1 day off shift) Experience managing camp-based crews is considered an asset Experience operating equipment such as ATVs, skidders, muskeg, side-by-sides, etc. is considered an asset Possess strong communication and organizational skills You will deliver: Ensure projects and professional teams operate effectively and efficiently with the highest care to quality, safety, and productivity. Manage a team of 3-5 crew foremen that each manage a 10-person planting crews providing a safe, productive, respectful, and rewarding workplace where tree planters want to return year after year. Optimize team performance through effective recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, development, and performance management activities. Manage logistics and planning of day-to-day operations Organize tree drops to planting locations and tree delivery to planters. Model best practices to ensure healthy forests and a better-quality yield for the future. Build strong relationships with internal and external partners. You will receive: Competitive salary negotiated based on experience, plus production bonus. The option to work in a camp-based or home-based operations in New Brunswick.
