In accordance with the Administrative and Professional Officer Agreement, this full-time continuing position offers a comprehensive benefits package found on our Benefits Overview page and an annual salary range of $76,395 - $127,323. Location - Work primarily takes place at North Campus Edmonton. Working for Strategic Infrastructure, Planning and Partnerships Strategic Infrastructure, Planning and Partnerships is responsible for developing strategic space planning, long-range development plans, and capital plans that span the institution and build a compelling vision for the future state of the institution's infrastructure, growth, and building lifecycle renewal. Position The Head of Strategic Infrastructure Planning will hold a critical role in leading the content and subject matter expertise for capital and strategic planning initiatives. They will initiate new ways to utilize space and facilities using data, research, and analysis. They will also assist in the oversight and implementation of the legislative process of campus planning and development, including the Capital Plan, Capital Budget, Long Range Development Plans, Sector Plans, Campus Open Space Plans, feasibility studies, and liaising with the University of Alberta Property Trust’s plans to ensure strong alignment. Duties This position is responsible for the update of strategic infrastructure plans for the legislated Capital Plan and Long Range Development Plan, under the guidance of the Director of Strategic Infrastructure, Planning & Partnerships. Oversees a team focused on establishing integrated, strategic space-asset planning functions, employees, and initiatives. Oversees strategic space and asset planning, using space data and evidence-based predictive modeling to determine best-use scenarios for asset planning. Guide resources and engagement in the development of operational and budgetary planning for common or shared spaces, including the development of guidelines, policies, and procedures. Produces planning proposals and summaries of progress, outcomes, findings, and recommendations for internal and executive review. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Architecture, Interior Design, Business, and/or related field. Minimum 10 years in strategic space/facility planning and space policies. Progressive experience in leadership/management of employees, priorities, and initiatives.
