Optometrist
Job Description
I am an optometrist who is looking to hire someone to perform the following
Tasks
- Greet and check-in patients when they arrive for their appointment
- Data entry of patient information
- Perform preliminary testing for the optometrist’s exams
- Process payments and bill insurance
- Scanning, faxing, filing
- Answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages
- Record and relay information
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Recalling patients
- Perform clerical duties, such as filing, sorting and distributing mail
- Balancing payments and closing the day
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required
- Work on additional assignments as assigned by optometrist
- Communicate with medical clinics and doctors offices
Skills and Education:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Must be willing to work in fast-paced environment
- Must have excellent phone and customer service skills
- Must be detail-oriented and organized
- Must work efficiently
- Previous healthcare or administrative experience is an asset
- Medical administrative or medical receptionist course completion is considered an asset
Office location at 300 Retail Drive, Saint John, NB E2J 2R2
Salary will be based on qualifications and experience.
Permanent position.
Hours Monday - Friday 9am-5pm.
