THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Manager of Networking Services via team leads, the Network Administrator is responsible for the management of the Campus Network with a significant focus on campus VoIP and campus telephone systems. This position is focused on the management of critical IT networking infrastructure as it relates to VoIP systems and associated infrastructure. Working with the various areas, this position will be responsible to carryout maintenance on these systems; work with other team members within and outside the unit to plan and carryout upgrades to systems; investigate and resolve ongoing network issues; provide technical guidance to other members of the network team and staff within and outside the OCIO. In addition, this position will be required to take a role in working with other departments to address specific needs within the VoIP environment; such as the design and creation of phone menu system and calling queues. Duties also include developing and maintaining appropriate documentation for complex IT systems; establishing the regular monitoring of all IT environmental infrastructures; working with other departmental units as part of a team to complete critical campus projects; providing recommendations for improvements or changes to existing environments; working with management to acquire and install required upgrades; consulting on new local and remote sites for ITS; engaging with members of the OCIO Security Team on cybersecurity matters; managing problem resolution via working with both internal and external groups; and performing other related duties as required.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Experience (5-7 years) in an enterprise network environment with increasing levels of responsibility; graduation from university with a degree in a relevant field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills; the ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; a strong capacity for attention to detail; and the ability to document their work.
SALARY $65,077 - $84,355 per annum (Management and Professional)
