Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate Experience: Experience an asset Work setting Remote location Various locations Tasks Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy Load and unload goods Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment Perform brake adjustments Perform emergency roadside repairs Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle Perform preventive maintenance Receive and relay information to central dispatch Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses Air Brakes Endorsement Driver's License (Class 1 or A) Security and safety Driver's validity licence check Driving record check (abstract) Transportation/travel information Willing to travel cross-border Willing to travel for extended periods Willing to travel overnight Work conditions and physical capabilities Attention to detail Handling heavy loads Large workload Physically demanding Repetitive tasks Own tools/equipment Cellular phone Personal suitability Flexibility Judgement Organized Reliability Team player Work Term: Permanent Work Language: English Hours: 40 hours per week
