This position reports directly to the Company Director and is responsible to keep track of logistics and update the company's inventory to maximize efficiency and productivity. It is responsible for prioritising tasks to meet expected shipping dates and maintaining an accurate inventory. Also, to collaborate with stakeholder to ensure all operations (e.g shipping and delivery) meet quality and safety standards.
Must be able to work autonomously and efficiently to organise, store and monitor the distribution of goods to ensure items and resources are shipped to their appropriate destinations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that daily schedules are done for all vehicles efficiently and effectively.
- Oversee maintenance requirements for the fleet, stock, and warehousing.
- Address staffing issues in your team including recruitment (together with HR).
- Manage relationships with drivers, delivery contractors and other stakeholders.
- Attend to special requests made by the freight forward company, such as customs inspections, hire of power point containers.
- Utilise negotiation skills to optimize and maximize cost-effectiveness for warehouse premises, pallet space and courier companies.
- Analyse operational performance and resolve issues. (at least once a month)
- Improve operational management systems, processes, maintaining best practice and compliance.
- Organise delivery runs for drivers maximizing the delivery times.
- Organize employees rosters and feed the on-line system with time control, holidays, sick leave, special situations etc.
- Organise the paperwork to the bookkeeper.
- Create company's technical manuals/training and implementation.
Skills And Experience
- FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of stock management regulations
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Computer literacy (MS Office applications, in particular)
- Ability to create relationships with stake-holders and internal teams.
- Work with a sense of urgency
- Ability to delegate tasks and responsibilities.
- Strong organisational and time management skills
Most of your role will be conducted from the local Brookvale office, but you will be required to travel infrequently to Bankstown where the Warehouse is located to implement new procedures, spot check and be present for stock take.
