Job category: local transport (live poultry) / class 1 with mention F (pneumatic braking) and M (manual transmission)

Departure point: Clair, New Brunswick

Territory covered: local transport between our producers and the factory

Schedule: evening/night shifts (weekdays)

Your responsibilities:

Reporting to the Dispatcher, the Class 1 Driver will be responsible for transporting live poultry from producers to the Sunnymel slaughterhouse in New Brunswick. More specifically, your role will be to:

• Complete safety rounds;
• Maintain various route reports;
• Complete live poultry deliveries requested by the supervisor within the required timeframe.

Requirements:

The Class 1 FM driver we're looking for has the following qualifications:

• Hold a valid class 1 driver's licence with FM endorsement;
• Have experience in transporting live poultry (an asset);
• Have completed a DEP in heavy vehicle driving (an asset);
• Know how to communicate and write fluently in English (French an asset);
• Adopt a customer-oriented approach and good professional ethics;
• Know the ISAAC electronic log (an asset);
• Have a good sense of direction and good backward manoeuvring skills.

Equipment :

• Tractor-trailers with air suspension and disc brakes;
• Cruise control, air-conditioned cab and Prémium air seat with back cushions;
• Electric windows, electric mirrors, auxiliary heating, heated mirrors and ISAAC electronic log.

Other useful information:

Handling: this job involves moving the cages inside the truck and putting up tarps to protect the live birds (weight to be lifted regularly).

Interviews and roadside assessments take place at Sunnymel in Clair, New Brunswick.
