The Opportunity
Port Saint John is part of the critical transportation infrastructure of Canada and a cornerstone of the New Brunswick economy. Port Saint John is Atlantic Canada's largest port by volume and has a diverse cargo base, handling 28 million metric tonnes of cargo annually, including dry and liquid bulks, break bulk, containers, and cruise.
Port Saint John is seeking a passionate leader to use their strong technology background to foster innovation and enhance operational excellence across the organization. The fulltime permanent position of IT and Digital Transformation Manager will influence the strategy and performance of the organization through the management of IT operations and strategic innovation projects. We are seeking an individual who can help create and implement the vision for the IT program for the Port to be an innovative leader in the industry and community.
Responsibilities
Your Focus:
- Develop and execute Port Saint John's IT and Digital Transformation strategy in alignment with the organization's priorities.
- Effectively monitor the performance the third-party contractors such as the Managed IT Service provider for the delivery of quality IT operational support and maintenance.
- Foster strategic relationships for the advancement of the IT program to support the organization's strategic priorities.
- Lead innovation projects with employees and partners to create enhancements and efficiencies for port operations.
- Oversee the development and implementation of a robust IT Security and Response program.
- Develop and implement IT procedures and policies.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the IT team members, to foster collaboration & inclusiveness within the team.
- Develop and report on key performance indicators to the leadership team and Board of Directors.
- Foster a culture of innovation and cybersecurity with employees.
- Ensure compliance of the IT program with legislative requirements.
- Develop and oversee IT and data governance.
- Oversee the Port's IT infrastructure and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
- Oversee the management and enhancement of critical internal IT systems including the administration & maintenance.
- Support the IT program as needed for the development of the internal IT team.
Qualifications
You Have:
- Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in a professional IT and/or OT environment with minimum 3-5 years experience leading teams.
- Completed post-secondary education within information technology.
- Experience successfully leading IT/cybersecurity programs and projects.
- Knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- Monitoring of information and operational technologies and security
- Technology domains; security, networking, systems, virtualization, API's, cloud, backup, and end-suer compute
- Application domains; software, hosting, integration, and data
- Project Management Professional Designation would be an asset.
- Certifications in ITIL would be considered an asset.
