Ekko Mindful Music Studio is looking for a new Woodwinds instructor to join the team, with Wednesday and Friday evening availability.

About the Studio:
Ekko Mindful Music Studio opened its doors early in 2021. Located in the heart of Downtown Dartmouth, the studio aims to provide positive, stress-free, inclusive, and welcoming learning environments for all. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to learn about the joys music can bring into your life.

Position:
The successful candidate would be instructing students of various ages and skill levels on common woodwind instruments (flute, saxophone, etc.), and be capable of teaching at least beginner-level lessons on piano or another secondary instrument. Most lessons are in-person, however some lessons may occur remotely via Zoom. Lessons are typically scheduled in the afternoon and evenings throughout the weekdays. We are looking for Wednesday and Friday starting availability for a Woodwinds teacher (with the potential for opening up other days in the future).

Requirements:

• Must have Woodwinds training to an advanced level.
• Solid understanding of Woodwind instruments and music theory.
• Able to work afternoons/evenings on Wednesday & Friday.
• Understand the core beliefs and mindset of mindfulness and see its importance in music education.
• Understand how to use Zoom and quick to learn other technology used at the studio.
• We are looking for someone personable and able to easily connect/engage with students in a fun and creative way.
• Note that instructors are required to have a recent and valid Vulnerable Sector Check on file with the studio.

Assets:

• Prior teaching experience would be considered an asset, although not necessary.
• Advanced training on a secondary teachable instrument, such as piano or guitar, is an asset.
• Knowledge in working in a service industry & working with people of various age groups.
• Knowledge working with people with learning disabilities.
• French language proficiency.
