We are looking for contracted Home Study Report Practitioners in Medicine Hat and Brooks. Home Study Report Practitioners (HSRP) are responsible for screening potential foster parents, kinship care providers, adoption applicants and private guardianship applicants for Children’s Services South Region. The HSRP interviews applicants and collects supporting documentation to develop a home study report that represents the applicant and their fit for fostering/kinship/adoption/private guardianship. SAFE (Structured Analysis Family Evaluation) is a structured evaluation process that assists practitioners in identifying and addressing both strengths and areas of concern that may impede functioning as well as safe and effective parenting. SAFE provides home study practitioners with a structured methodology that supports the social work interview as well as provides a uniform methodology of interpreting and assessing the information gathered during the home study process. Enrollment and completion of SAFE training is a part of this position. This is a contract position with no guaranteed hours. Remuneration is paid as per McMan South’s SAFE Home Study Report Practitioner fee schedule upon completion of home study reports. Required Qualifications: o Degree/Diploma in the human services field. o Active registration in good standing with a relevant registered professional association (if applicable) o Strong working knowledge of Children’s Services and the foster care system. o SAFE Certification (preferred, but successful applicant can complete training when contract is offered). o Cultural proficiency and experience working with Indigenous individuals, families, and communities. o Exceptional assessment, writing, and computer skills. o Ability to work evenings and weekends. o Clear Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector dated within the past six months. o Child Intervention Check dated within the past six months. o Valid Driver’s License, daily use of reliable vehicle and minimum $2M vehicle insurance.
