North Carolina Education Corps High-Impact Tutoring Partners
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Non Exempt; Part time; at least 3 days a week; 2023-2024 School Year only
QUALIFICATIONS: A background in education is not required, because you will be supported by a NCEC learning coach who will provide training, professional development, and support throughout the school year.
HOURLY WAGE: $15.00 per hour (non-certified); $25.00 per hour (certified)
DUTIES: As a NC Education Corps Member, you will work in-person in an assigned placement school in one of our partner districts or charter schools. To follow the high impact tutoring model, you will work at least 3 days a week, with 1-3 students for 30 minutes at a time. This work will support K-5 students with their foundational literacy skills. Tutors will focus on the five pillars of reading: phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension.
TRAINING: All corps members (CMs) will participate in required professional learning during the 2023-2024 school year. A paid initial training will be required upon employment start date with the opportunity to opt into monthly professional development from October through April. Additionally, your NCEC Learning Coach will offer the opportunity for coaching calls and school- based site visits.
