The Department of Biology at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a Sessional Instructor during the Summer Session of 2024 (May 6 – June 18), subject to final budgetary approval.
Please note: the course offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as an online course.
BIO 4090 – Wildlife Diseases (Special Topics)
This will be an online lecture course that covers the main wildlife diseases found among North American animals and may be of interest to students in Wildlife Conservation, Ecology, or those students pursuing careers in Veterinary Medicine. Causes, species affected, occurrence, ecology, clinical disease, pathology, and significance to the population will be addressed.
Lectures: 6-9 pm, Tuesday and Thursday
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold an M.Sc. or Ph.D. or other degree that qualifies them to teach this course (e.g., DVM). Documented experience teaching is preferred.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster, full-time and term contract Faculty Members of the Academic unit, and to those with experience in teaching university level courses.
Salary: As per Sessional Instructor Stipends outlined in the Collective Agreement of the UPEI Faculty Association, Bargaining Unit #1.
