D U T I E S Reporting to the Manager HVACR Service Technician is responsible for performing corrective maintenance repairs to heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment to sustain the operation of College equipment. The incumbent will perform preventative maintenance to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for students, staff and visitors, as well as support for internal stakeholders and programs such as Food Services. Periodically, the incumbent may work in conjunction with internal trades and/or outside contractors ensuring that all work, whether done internally or by outside contractors conforms to all applicable codes. R E Q U I R E D Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S Red Seal Journeyperson Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Trades certificate Several years experience working with commercial HVACR equipment including air handling units, heat recovery ventilators, roof top units, commercial coolers and freezers Must hold a valid Gasfitters B licence Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, understands technical language and manuals Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work both independently and in a team environment Strong knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety regulations related to building operations Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement A S S E T S Experience working in large institutional complexes with central heating and cooling systems Experience working with MAU, RTU, Boilers, Commercial Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Experience with GeoThermal systems and/or Heat Pumps Experience implementing and carry out a preventative program on HVACR equipment Experience working with a Building Management System (BMS) or Direct Digital Control systems (DDC) Experience work with a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) work order system C O N D I T I O N S O F E M P L O Y M E N T Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends This position may be required to work overtime This position may be required to travel Incumbent must be physically capable of performing the duties and responsibilities of the position. A medical certificate from a certified physician will be required.
